A chip does not
belong to one person.

It moves.

Every person who holds it adds one small chapter before passing it on. Nobody owns the story. Everybody is part of it.

The code on the back

Possession is the key.

Each chip carries a long, random code that exists nowhere except on the metal itself. Chip numbers are public; the code is not. That is what makes the stories readable to the people who have actually held the chip — and nobody else.

Scanning gives you 24 hours with the full journey. Adding your story makes it yours to follow forever.

Questions

What happens when I scan a chip?
You land on that chip's own page. Once you verify your email, you can read every story left by the people who carried it before you.
Do I need an account?
Only an email address. There are no passwords — we send you a one-time code and keep you signed in on that device.
Can everyone see the stories?
No. Stories are only readable by people who have physically held the chip and scanned its code, or who have contributed to it. Everyone else sees numbers, cities and countries.
Can I see a chip I never owned?
You can see its public profile — how far it has travelled, how many people carried it, where it is now. The stories stay with the journey.
Can I remove or edit my story?
Yes. From your profile you can anonymise your contributions or replace the text. The chapter stays in place so the journey remains intact.
What location is stored?
Only the city and country you choose, plus that city's centre point. Your device's exact position is never stored.
Can someone scan the same chip multiple times?
Yes. If you already carried it, the chip simply opens. You only add one chapter per hand-over.
What if I lose the chip?
The journey stays in your collection. Chips get lost, left behind and found again — that is part of it.
Can I keep a chip?
Nobody will stop you. But a chip that stays in a drawer stops telling its story.
Can I follow it after passing it on?
That is the whole point. Every chip you contributed to stays in your collection and keeps updating as it travels.
What happens if someone scans a chip but doesn't add a story?
Nothing changes. The previous holder stays the latest holder, and the chip is not added to anyone's collection.
